# FAQ

### Getting started

#### What is Loadout?

Loadout helps game developers launch tokens and earn development funding from eligible trading fees. Teams publish their games, plans and progress so traders can assess them.

#### Does the game need to be finished or use blockchain?

No. A game can still be in development or already released. Developers can keep the game entirely traditional. Tokens launched through Loadout are on Solana.

#### What is the difference between Curated and Instant Launches?

Curated Launches go through Loadout's team and project review. Instant Launches use the self-service publishing route and can later become verified after review. New curated launches target 150 SOL in real curve reserves, while instant launches target 85 SOL. Use the route enabled in the app and review the project's actual settings.

#### Is that the same as Fair Launch and Studio Launch?

Those describe token allocation. Fair Launch has no reserved team or treasury tokens. Studio Launch supports disclosed allocations and, under the updated flow, an optional staking reserve. [Launch Types](https://loadout.gitbook.io/product-docs/for-developers/launch-types) explains the limits.

#### What does it cost to launch?

Loadout's published model has no upfront listing fee. The protocol earns a share of eligible trading fees. Solana transaction costs can apply; review any costs shown before signing.

### Fees and graduation

#### What are the standard trading fees?

Game tokens use a 5% standard curve fee, split into 4 percentage points for the studio and 1 for Loadout before the applicable buyback, referral and rebate allocations. The standard official game pool starts at 2% after graduation. LOAD's separate official pool charges 1.5%. Temporary launch protection can increase an opening buy's fee.

#### Does the studio keep 4% after graduation?

No. Pool fees first account for Meteora, then the fee rights and allocation policy of the relevant position. Under a 2% fee, full LP-fee ownership, zero compounding and the standard 80/20 graduation-position splitter, the studio share is 1.28% of eligible volume before studio buybacks. Staking positions can have a different fee policy. See [Fee Structure](https://loadout.gitbook.io/product-docs/overview/fees).

#### When does a token graduate?

When its configured real SOL reserve target is reached and migration completes. New launch targets are 150 SOL curated and 85 SOL instant. Existing projects can have different settings. GOOSE's original 1,000 SOL target was reduced to 220 SOL before it graduated.

#### Does the graduation target go to the studio?

The real reserves seed pool liquidity. Studio fee earnings are accounted for separately. Graduation alone does not establish that a game has met its development funding goal.

#### What happens to holders at graduation?

Holders keep the same token. Curve trading closes while the official pool is created and funded, so there can be a brief interruption. The original graduation liquidity position is permanently locked.

#### Can the token trade in other pools?

Yes. Tokens are transferable and independent pools can have different prices and fees. Their trades do not automatically fund the studio, Loadout or referral rewards.

### Trading and rewards

#### Can I buy during the anti-sniper window?

The updated app removes the blanket first-minute website buy lock. Temporary buy fees can still apply and decline during the protection window. Review the live quote carefully. A transaction can be rejected if the total fee leaves nothing to trade. GOOSE's earlier website buy lock was historical behaviour.

#### Does trading through the site automatically earn a rebate?

No. A qualifying referral must be registered before the eligible trade. Registered wallets can qualify through indexed activity in eligible pools even when trading through another interface. Independent pools do not automatically qualify.

#### Why are some rewards not claimable immediately?

Curve rewards accrue on-chain, while post-graduation rewards require processing and published distributions. Use the claimable balance and receipt rather than treating recent volume or pending earnings as immediately payable. [Rewards & Rebates](https://loadout.gitbook.io/product-docs/for-traders/rewards) explains the distinction.

#### Can token metadata change after launch?

The token's launch metadata is fixed under the launch flow. Project-page updates and new game media are separate. Review the token name, symbol, description and image before publishing.

### Buybacks and staking

#### Do all studio fees go to buybacks?

No. The studio chooses a buyback share. Under the updated release, that share includes accumulated pre-graduation studio fees and eligible anti-sniper receipts. It moves into escrow at graduation, with purchases and burns afterward. The remaining studio allocation supports development.

#### Can a studio change its buyback percentage?

The current implementation permits increases before graduation and can permit decreases afterward. Check the current project setting and any separate commitment. Do not assume a permanent minimum without the corresponding deployed controls.

#### Are game-revenue buybacks automatic?

A studio can publish a separate commitment from game revenue, with its own percentage, revenue basis, timing and cap or tiers. The studio remains responsible for execution and evidence. Publishing the commitment does not automatically collect its game sales revenue.

#### How does staking work?

The new staking release supports token and liquidity vaults with their own deposit, reward and withdrawal terms. Use only pools enabled in the app. LOAD rewards restake, SOL rewards pay directly and other supported token rewards can enter a reward lock. See [Staking](https://loadout.gitbook.io/product-docs/overview/staking).

#### Can a studio reserve tokens for stakers?

The updated Studio Launch flow offers optional staking at the configured share, with a new-release default of 10%. The reserve stays separate from the studio treasury and is released to staking after graduation. It counts toward the combined reserved-supply limit.

#### Is the Illuvium community pool open?

It is planned. Eligibility, rewards and opening details will be published before deposits open.

### Funding and safety

#### What happens if a project never graduates?

An active curve can continue processing buys and sells under its settings. Graduation and future trading are not guaranteed. A staking allocation that requires graduation has not reached its release step while the project remains on the curve.

#### Does verification or locked liquidity remove the risk?

No. Games can fail, prices can fall and smart contracts can have bugs. A permanent lock prevents withdrawal of that locked position's principal. It cannot guarantee price stability, revenue or delivery. Read [Security & Audits](https://loadout.gitbook.io/product-docs/security-and-audits) for the scope of published reports.
